Coordination and application of the Ecosystem Diagnosis and Treatment methodology for the Cowlitz
River Hydroelectric Project relicensing that quantified and assessed the
condition of the watershed and recommended treatments for improved watershed
functions.
Worked with federal, state,
county and municipal agencies, tribal entities and public action groups to
identify goals and potential actions during development of the Pierce County
Salmon Recovery Plan for compliance with the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
Meridian Environmental
staff is currently working with Mobrand Biometrics, Inc. and the Washington
Department of Fish and Wildlife to complete an EDT analysis for the Grays River
and Lewis River basins in southwestern Washington. Responsibilities include the
collection of current and historical data describing fish species distribution,
instream and riparian habitat conditions, channel geomorphology, water quality
and potential hatchery impacts. Data are currently being entered into the EDT
model to aid in the development of a list of actions needed to recover ESA
listed salmon and steelhead stocks.
