Meridian staff, in a joint partnership with Mobrand Biometrics of Vashon Island, Washington, offers an analytical model called Ecosystem Diagnosis and Treatment (EDT). EDT was developed to provide a structured and scientifically based approach for examining current watershed conditions and developing appropriate actions and strategies to meet management objectives and public goals. Meridian and Mobrand staffs have applied EDT to watersheds with multiple, and sometimes conflicting, resource issues and interest groups. The process has brought all of the parties together in a single, comprehensive understanding of the ecological conditions and the trade-off of any proposed action. The results are balanced and accountable decisions designed to affect specific environmental attributes to better meet watershed goals and values. |
