Salvelinus confluentus Curiosity Society Meeting
Aug 13-15, Anthony Lakes, OR
Greetings ScCSers!
Please mark your calendar for August 13-15th, 2013 for the next Salvelinus confluentus Curiosity Society meeting. It will be held at Anthony Lakes Lodge in northeastern Oregon at the crest of the Elkhorn Mountains at 7,000 feet elevation and the headwaters of bull trout populations in the Powder, John Day, and Grande Ronde river basins. This facility is part of a downhill and cross-country ski area in the winter and will be a great venue for our talks, meals, and group gatherings. Camping will be at the Anthony Lake and Mud Lake campgrounds adjacent to the lodge. The lodge and campgrounds are about 45 minutes from Baker City and La Grande. Alternative lodging (Forest Service rentals, B&Bs, motels) is available; most is within 30-45 minutes from the meeting site. The focus for our field day will be the nearby bull trout streams in the Powder River Basin, where data on bull trout occupancy and distribution has not been collected since the 1990s! Meeting theme and agenda, directions, field day details, and information on nearby recreational opportunities are in the works, and will be emailed to those who indicate they plan to attend. Please download the registration form for further information on registration cost, lodging, and who to contact if you have any questions.
Best regards,
